It was another banner year for new brewery openings in Massachusetts, with 26 debuts. Even more if you include the seven existing breweries or brands that opened new taprooms. Though well short of last year’s record 36 openings (42 including new taprooms), it was the second highest total ever. Here’s the list for 2018, roughly in chronological order by opening date:

Second Wind Brewing in Plymouth opens its taproom to the public

Seven Saws Brewing opened a taproom nearby its production nano brewery in Holden

Remnant Brewing opens a micro brewery and taproom in Somerville

Contract brand Greater Good Imperial Brewing opens its own micro brewery & taproom in Worcester

Turtle Swamp Brewing opens a taproom at its Jamaica Plain brewery

Crue Brew Brewery opens a micro brewery and taproom in Raynham

Contract brand Small Change Brewing releases its first beer

Contract brand Naukabout opens its own micro brewery and taproom in Mashpee

Stellwagen Brewing opens a micro brewery and taproom in Marshfield

Strange Brewery opens a micro brewery and taproom inside the Strange Brew Homebrew shop in Marlborough

Natick Do-it-yourself operation Barleycorn’s Craft Brew establishes its own brand and opens a taproom

Off The Cuff Brewing launches as a contract brand and releases its first beer
