Stoneman Brewery Launches Colrain Living Lager Community Fundraiser, 2021 CSA Membership and Crowdsourced Investment Campaign

PRESS RELEASE / Dec. 9, 2020 (Colrain, MA) –Stoneman Brewery announced today the launch of its first beer project in 2021 with the pre-release of Colrain Living Lager. All proceeds from the pre-sale will benefit the Colrain Historical Society and the Colrain Veterans Memorial Fund. The 4.5% ABV lager is made from locally sourced ingredients including hops from Four Star Farms (Northfield) and malted grain from Valley Malt (Hadley).

After pausing operations this year in the wake of COVID-19 business shutdowns, the local independent brewery’s Colrain Living Lager project will help fund the raw ingredients Stoneman Brewery needs to re-start operations in 2021. Colrain Living Lager presales are available online at www.growbeer.com until December 31, 2010. Presale orders can be picked up on or after April 6 at Pine Hill Orchards (248 Greenfield Rd., Colrain).

In addition, Stoneman Brewery is now accepting online orders for the launch of its 2021 Beer Community Supporting Agriculture (CSA) model. Stoneman Brewery offers CSA members the chance to invest in the brewery with pre-sale funds that support its commitment to sourcing 100% local ingredients. The first CSA Share of 2021 for members will be available for pick-up from April to October 2021. The case of pre-mixed local beer selections from Stoneman Brewery will feature special-batch projects.

“Since we started the first Beer CSA ever in the United States, every Stoneman beer we’ve created has used more than 50% locally sourced ingredients,” said Justin Korby, Stoneman Brewery. “We are proud of our commitment to support local growers. With your help here at the end of 2020, we can bring Stoneman Brewery back online and make 2021 our best year yet.”

Since 2012, Stoneman Brewery’s CSA membership has helped the one-man brewery raise funds to finish brewery construction and continue creating award-winning locally sourced beers. The brewery was awarded the 2019 Good Food Award for its Tractor Ryed IPA. In 2020, its expansion plans were put on hold during the pandemic. With the restart of its Beer CSA membership, Stoneman Brewery is focused on direct-to-consumer sales at the start of 2021 with the New Beer CSA and in the late spring with a beer garden.

This month, the Stoneman Brewery team raised nearly $5,000 and placed 15th out of 200 teams in the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts ‘Monte’s March.’ Monies raised support the food bank creating 4 meals for every dollar raised for Western Massachusetts families. Monte’s March raised more than $600,000 on behalf of the food bank.

In addition to this, Stoneman Brewery is also launching his second running crowdsourced investment campaign through Mainvest, after previously raising $20,000 in his first round earlier this year. Click here for more info.
