With a new (and hopefully better) year upon us, we figured it was time to do our quarterly update of the Massachusetts Breweries By The Numbers infographic. Despite the pandemic, the commonwealth added 27 new breweries in 2020, four of which were existing brands that added new spaces. Unfortunately, for the second year in a row it also lost 12 breweries to closure. And it’s conceivable that more may not make it through the coming year. Time will tell. For now, here’s a detailed rundown of the 210 breweries the exist, and what their current business models are. There’s also a look at what’s on the horizon, which includes another 20 to 30 breweries with plans of opening in the Bay State. Drop us a line if you have any questions about the infographic, or otherwise.
