German Traditions, Exclusive Beer Hall Releases And Fun For The Whole Family

PRESS RELEASE / May 6, 2025 (Framingham, MA) – Jack’s Abby celebrates the arrival of spring with their yearly Maifest event. Maifest is a traditional German festival to celebrate the beginning of spring and is the counterpart to the legendary Oktoberfest celebration.

Jack’s Abby annual Maifest celebration includes traditions such as cask tapping, decorating the Maypole with colorful ribbons and flowers, live music, dancing, and Maifest King & Queen competition.

The kitchen at Jack’s Abby is also in celebration mode, creating menu additions that reflect the festival’s roots in German communities. Guests can expect: pork knuckle with German potato salad and sauerkraut. German chocolate cake, potato pancakes, cheesy spaetzle and Flammkuchen pizza.

Jack’s Abby is releasing three beer hall exclusives for Maifest:

  • Maifest – a Festbier lager featuring Pilsner malt and noble hops for a sweet and balanced taste. ABV 5.8%.

  • Maibock Hurts Like Helles – Brewing things the old school way is “bock” breaking work. Maibock Hurts Like Helles is a take on a traditional Helles Bock. This unfiltered, golden lager is exceptionally drinkable for its strength. A light noble hop character balances the smooth sweet finish. ABV 6.5%

  • Ratskeller Kellerbier – This is an insiders’ lager named after underground bars of Germany. It’s unfiltered, golden and brewed for the people. ABV 5.0%

This year Maifest is packed with fun activities for the whole family including flower crown making, balloon animals and a petting zoo.

Maifest will be held on the expansive Jack’s Abby patio. In the event of rain, Maifest will be inside the Jack’s Abby Beer Hall.

All are welcome! Dirndls and lederhosen encouraged!

About Jack’s Abby

Founded in 2011 by three brothers, Jack, Eric, and Sam Hendler, Jack’s Abby has become an award winning mainstay of the craft brewing scene in the Northeast and nationwide. The Hendler brothers grew up in a family that promoted entrepreneurship and hard work. Spending summers with their grandfather and working at the family’s ice distribution company, they learned the value of committed family members and loyal employees—the foundation on which Jack’s Abby is based. Since opening, the brewery has tripled in size and is only continuing to grow. Visit the brewery and Beer Hall & Kitchen, have a pint, and some fresh wood-fired pizza, and learn more.
