Launch celebration to take place June 5 in Ipswich

PRESS RELEASE / May 29, 2026 (Ipswich, MA) – Greenbelt and True North Ales have partnered to create Greenbelt Pilsner, a limited-edition craft beer inspired by the irreplaceable natural landscapes that define Essex County. A portion of all sales will support Greenbelt’s mission to conserve local land and expand access to nature throughout the region.

This crisp German-style pilsner, brewed with locally harvested wildflower honey, will debut during a launch celebration at the True North Ales Taproom in Ipswich on Friday, June 5, from 5:00–7:00pm. Guests will have the opportunity to connect with fellow Greenbelt supporters while enjoying the new beer. Attendees may also purchase a collectible Greenbelt Pilsner glass for an additional $5, while supplies last. Four-packs featuring custom-designed labels will also be available for purchase.

“From the start, this collaboration felt like a natural fit,” says Gary Rogers, Founder of True North Ales. “We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Greenbelt that’s rooted in our shared commitment to protecting the environment and strengthening the local community. Supporting Greenbelt’s conservation work benefits everyone who calls this area home.”

The idea for the collaboration was sparked by Greenbelt’s NextGen Committee, a group dedicated to engaging the next generation of conservation supporters through land stewardship, community-building, and expanding equitable access to nature. Since launching last year, the committee has organized hikes, trail cleanups, and social gatherings designed to build awareness and support for Greenbelt’s mission.

“Being involved with the NextGen Committee has created some incredibly fulfilling opportunities, and this collaboration with True North Ales is a great example,” says Brendan Pescatore of Beverly, a member of Greenbelt’s NextGen Committee. “We were able to create a quality product that incorporates local ingredients and flavors while also introducing Greenbelt’s mission to a wider audience. It’s been a fun and meaningful way to connect with people and organizations in the community who care deeply about conservation and making a tangible impact.”

Following the June 5 launch celebration, Greenbelt Pilsner will remain available on tap at True North Ales while supplies last. Limited quantities will also be available at select Greenbelt events throughout the season, including Art in the Barn, Tour de Greenbelt, and NextGen gatherings.
