PRESS RELEASE / July 27, 2025 (Bridgewater, MA) – Developer, Churchill James and their partner, Robert Cormier, born and raised in Bridgewater, MA are seeking a potential fit for a Brewery/Taproom Expansion opportunity in a new construction project in Bridgewater. Our Hometown, Bridgewater, is undergoing an economic growth period, and we are just about to break ground on a transformative project. The project will be 77 high end apartments over 6,300 square feet of retail space and an additional 7,000 sq. foot restaurant. In the commercial space, we are planning for a 3k square foot tap room/brew pub or a food collective in the frontage left building (think mini food hall), and a high end market in the right building (1,600 square feet). In the rear building,a wellness center with gym, massage, recovery, and PT will round out the space. The location will also be walkable from the MBTA station and 1/4 mile from Bridgewater State University Campus. The concept is to create a micro community in the center of town, and create a space where the community can spend an entire day with wellness, food and drink, and workspace.
I’m very passionate about only bringing businesses that we want in the community, and that the community is begging for.
In addition to the growth in Bridgewater, the demographic is begging for the need for this type of business. The area median income is higher than all surrounding towns and there is frankly, very little to spend our money on in town. We’ve spent the last two years engaging with the community and polling citizens – this was the clear ask in terms of somewhere fun and social. The thought is to either partner with an existing brewery that offers food to expand their tap room/restaurant presence, or share the space with some high quality counter serve food options. Almost like a mini food hall. There is also patio space connected to the commercial space of this building.
Included are renderings of the project. High quality, high end design. As a bonus, our general contractor has extensive experience in building out tap rooms and restaurants for some of the largest brands in the area. We’ll be breaking ground in about 60 days and timing for buildout/etc. would be for another ~15 months or so, but we want to start narrowing down potential partners now. We are in a position to make this advantageous for the right partner!
