PRESS RELEASE / September 6, 2024 (Brockton, MA) – It is with a heavy heart that the Brockton Beer Company Ownership Group announces the closure of our taproom and kitchen in downtown Brockton on Saturday, September 28, 2024. We made this decision after careful and thorough consideration with our key stakeholders and exhausting all possible options to remain open. Ultimately, our current revenue does not cover our current and ongoing expenses.
Founded in 2018, Brockton Beer Company has been more than just a brewpub—it has been a vibrant part of downtown Brockton. Since brewing our signature beers in 2021 and opening our taproom in 2022, we have had the privilege of serving thousands of guests in and out of the greater Brockton area. Our beers have been distributed and served throughout Massachusetts and New York, and we are proud to have collaborated with many outstanding breweries. Throughout our time, we have worked tirelessly to create a space that not only offered diverse food and drinks, but also an excellent guest experience that fostered a strong sense of community.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our incredible Brockton Beer team: our Head Brewer, Julian Miller, our Co- Head Chefs, Markos Liapopoulos and Christos Liapopoulos, and our Beertender and Kitchen teams. Your dedication and commitment to our mission have been nothing short of extraordinary and we are beyond grateful for all your efforts. We also wanted to thank our regular guests and supporters who have become like family to all of us. You are the lifeblood of Brockton Beer Company and the foundation of our community. We also want to express our heartfelt thanks to the City of Brockton, Mass Development, Neighborworks, Brockton Redevelopment Authority, private investors, and our family and friends. Your ongoing support has been instrumental in sustaining our vision over the past six years. While we had hoped for a longer tenure in downtown Brockton, we take pride in the positive impact we have had on the community.
For the remainder of September, we will be open on Thursdays from 4pm-9pm, Fridays from 4pm to 10pm, and Saturdays from 12pm-10pm. Our kitchen will only be open September 5-7 until all inventory has been sold. Weather permitting, we plan to be serving beer in our Sycamore Sol Pavilion Beergarden directly next to our taproom at 121 Main Street throughout the month of October and at events throughout Massachusetts. As we close this chapter, we do so with immense pride in what we have accomplished together. Though there are no plans for Brockton Beer Company beyond this calendar year, we will always cherish the memories and the community we have built.
