Although the local forecast for this 4th of July weekend doesn’t look promising, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some patriotic pints to mark the 245th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. We’ve put together a list of brews from Massachusetts breweries with patriotic themes to celebrate independent craft beer and the spirit of Massachusetts. Also, July 3rd is officially National Independent Beer Run Day, so do the best you can to to stock up with local independent craft beer to enjoy a backyard (or indoor) barbecue with family and friends. ??? Barnstable Brewing Amerihop (Hyannis, MA) – A well-balanced American Pale Ale brewed with 100% American hops from the Pacific Northwest.
??? Barrel House Z Red, White and Brew (Weymouth, MA) – A Cream ale “perfect for patios and picnics,” this light, refreshingly drinkable beer is in the category of “lawnmower beers.”
??? Barrington Brewery Firecracker Imperial Rye IPA (Barrington, MA) – A 7.9% Rye IPA that has “moderate bitterness with spicy notes from rye malt that are balanced with background specialty grains giving this beer a smooth-drinking mouthfeel.”
??? Big Elm Brewing American Lager (Sheffield, MA) – A refreshing light golden lager sure to quench your thirst during Fourth of July festivities.
??? Castle Island Brewing American Lager (Norwood, MA) – A 2018 Great American Beer Festival Silver Medal Winner, as well as the Gold Medal Winner at the 2019 U.S. Beer Open Championship, this light and crisp American lager is perfect when you’re just kicking back and relaxing.
??? Castle Island Double Freedom Rockets (Norwood, MA) – A Double IPA bursting with flavor from CTZ, Idaho 7 and Mosaic hops.
??? Granite Coast Brewing American Cream Ale (Peabody, MA) – Clean and crisp, this cream ale has the flavor of “the boutique corn” used to brew this traditional American style.
??? Harpoon Brewery Mew-S-A Citrus IPA (Boston, MA) – Brewed in collaboration with international soccer star sisters Kristie and Sam Mewis with portion of proceeds from every 4-pack sold to be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Dorchester.
??? Kismet Brewing Hometown Glory (Westfield, MA) – The initial offering in a rotating series that will focus on ingredients sourced from Massachusetts. This 8.2% New England style double IPA is made with grains from Valley Malt and hops grown by Four Star Farms.
??? Lamplighter Brewing Lamp Lager (Cambridge, MA) – A light American Lager brewed with Maine-sourced Pilsner malts and malted Pennsylvania corn.
??? Lost Shoe Brewing American Light Lager (Marlborough, MA) – Lost Shoe will be hosting an indoor block party at their brewery tomorrow with a special version of their American Light Lager that will be served with a red, white and blue popsicle.
??? Lucky Goat Brewing Ordinary ‘Merican (Wareham, MA) – An American Session Ale available in 4-pack cans-to-go from their brewery.
??? Samuel Adams American Crafted (Boston, MA) – An unfiltered lager made in collaboration with American Giant the USA-made apparel company famously known for the “greatest hoodie ever made.”

Second Wind Brewing Committee Of Five (Plymouth, MA) – Named for the authors of the Declaration of Independence, this New England-style IPA with Citra added in the whirlpool and Citra Lupomax during fermentation, was brewed in conjunction with their friends from Pinnora Brewing in England. I guess there are no hard feelings after almost 250 years. Beer truly brings everyone together.
??? Shoveltown Brewery Patriot (Easton, MA) – A light crisp pilsner that has the malty flavor you savor.
??? Stellwagen Beer Fireworks Display (Marshfield, MA) – A 7.1% IPA that has the “explosive combination of a tropical fruit salad”
??? Two Weeks Brewing Notice Merica! (West Springfield, MA) – A 6.7% New England-style IPA double dry-hopped with the “juiciest” hops; Citra, Mosaic, El Dorado, Red Wheat, and Amarillo.
??? Wachusett Brewing Glory (Westminster, MA) – Originally brewed to help those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic, this American IPA is now a year-round staple for the central Massachusetts brewery. It is “loaded” with hops and drinks real easy at 5.5%.
??? Widowmaker Brewing Eagle Eyes It (Braintree, MA) – At 5%, this lower ABV New England-style IPA brewed with “copious” amounts of Citra, Citra Lupomax, and Galaxy hops is meant to be enjoyed “over and over.”
