From Rob Burns, President of the Massachusetts Brewers Guild

Earlier this week, the Senate passed Senate Bill 2627, an act expanding the sale of products by farmer breweries and distilleries, which includes provisions that directly benefit brewers and allow for beer [and spirits] to be sold at farmers markets across the state. This bill allows cities and towns to grant special licenses for the sale of malt beverages in sealed containers for off-premise consumption, and pour 2-ounce samples to prospective customers without charge.

Thank you to all who helped advocate for this bill. We’re excited at the opportunity for brewers to pour, sell, and showcase their products at farmers’ markets. This legislation will now be sent to the House for debate. We are asking you to please reach out to your local State Representative and ask them to support this legislation. Please call as soon as possible as they are working this weekend and will vote on this bill very soon!
