Historic Superintendent Property to Serve as Idyllic Locale for New Outdoor Venue

PRESS RELEASE / May 14, 2024 (Princeton, MA) – Double Down Brewing Company is partnering with Mountainside Bakery and Café in Princeton, MA to open a new outdoor space that will be open to the public starting Memorial Day weekend. Dubbed “Double Down on Mountainside”, this will be the award-winning brewery’s 2nd location, following the opening of their well-known Worcester space in 2021. The new location, which was originally built in 1903 and once provided a home and office for the head of the Wachusett Mountain State Park was transformed, by the owners of Mountainside in 2019 and has fast become a popular stop for hikers, skiers, and travelers.

“This is a dream come true”, said Double Down co-Founder Christian McMahan”. “I have always imagined that space could be an amazing beer garden since I first moved into the area. Now with the transformational renovation project and great food program already offered there, adding in fresh, locally owned beer to their property will make it an even more destination location for people to come visit”, McMahan added.

Mountainside’s Co-owner, Katherine Huck adds “Partnering with Double Down Brewery is a fantastic opportunity for us to extend our current hours and offer something truly special to our visitors and community. Our focus has been all about creating a relaxing environment where people can find great food right in the heart of the Wachusett State Park Reservation. Double Down’s tap room at Mountainside boosts our goal of fostering an ecotourism hub where families, visitors and our community will find great food and great beer while enjoying this historic property.”

“Double Down on Mountainside” will open Saturday May 25 th and will be open every Saturday from 12-8pm and Sundays 12 6pm at 213 Mountain Rd Princeton, MA. The days and hours will be expanded mid-June.
