Untold, Castle Island, Vitamin Sea, Trillium, Widowmaker, Lamplighter breweries to join celebration; musical lineup headlined by Wu-Tang Clan’s Cappadonna

 

PRESS RELEASE / May 24, 2023 (Brockton, MA) – Brockton Beer Company and the Downtown Brockton Association announce a craft beer and cultural festival on June 3 to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the opening of Brockton Beer’s downtown brewpub. 

The festival, which runs from 3 pm to 8 pm, will feature a variety of craft breweries, local food vendors, and an eclectic musical lineup, celebrating Brockton’s rich cultural roots, headlined by Wu-Tang Clan’s Cappadonna.

“Our mission is simple: to create a welcoming space where people of all backgrounds can come together to enjoy amazing craft beer and learn about the diverse perspectives that make our community so unique,” said Brockton Beer Co-Owner Eval Silvera. “We believe that by fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive craft beer community, it benefits all in the craft beer space.”

“I’m looking forward to the craft beer community visiting the City of Champions to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Brockton Beer Company opening downtown,” added Mayor Robert F. Sullivan. “The brewery has become a central piece of the reimagining of our downtown and this event will showcase the vibrant culture and exciting transformation happening in Brockton.”

Tickets range from $20 to $50 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are available at www.cultureontapfest.com and will not be sold onsite on the day of the festival. Ticket sales will end at midnight on June 2. VIP tickets include one hour of unlimited tastings. Only ticketed patrons will be admitted to the festival.

Patrons are encouraged to use public transit. The MBTA Commuter Rail runs every 90 minutes all day from South Station to the Brockton station and from Middleboro to Brockton. Patrons leaving Brockton can take the commuter rail to South Station at 5:06 p.m., 7:41 p.m. and 10:01 p.m. Trains also leave Brockton for Middleboro at 5:10 p.m., 6:40 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Full schedule and fare info here.

The festival will feature over a dozen Brockton-based and regional restaurants and food trucks, including Teffy’s, Lobzter King, That’s So Cool, and more, offering a variety of curated cuisine options to pair with the beer. Over 15 regional craft breweries, including Vitamin Sea, Trillium, Widowmaker, Lamplighter, Untold, Castle Island, and more, will be showcasing their unique creations.

The festival’s eclectic live music lineup will be headlined by Cappadonna of Wu-Tang, as well as Boston hip-hop icon Ed O.G., heavy metal band Wisdom & War, social media star Annie Hartigan, pop rapper Scott Isbell, New Bedford-bred soul artist James Cappra, and many others.
