More Wood in Norwood is dedicated to the beauty of barrel-aged beers

PRESS RELEASE / September 11, 2018 (Norwood, MA) – Castle Island Brewing Co (CIBC) is bringing a barrel-aged beer festival to their hometown of Norwood this November. The inaugural festival will be held at the Norwood Space Center, a hub of creative innovation located just south of Boston. With the help of Craft’d Company, a consulting service for craft brands, this celebration of barrel-aged beer, dubbed “More Wood in Norwood”, will run two sessions on Saturday, November 3rd featuring 20+ breweries from across the country. Food vendors, Boru BBQ, CUFFS, and Speakeasy Donuts, will also be on-site serving food truck fare to hungry event-goers.

With barrel-aged beer as the theme, each brewery participant will bring at least one beer that’s been aged in wood to pour at each session. This fall-based event is meant to celebrate the variety of styles that brewers experiment with in the barrel-aging process, so festival-goers can expect a lineup that runs the gamut from sticky-sweet barleywines to elegant saisons.

CIBC is excited in particular to bring this festival right to their roots in Norwood, and to continue making this town a destination for craft beer drinkers. Adam Romanow, President of CIBC, expands on this notion:

“Norwood has been an amazing place to build our brewery, and we’ve always wanted to put on this festival to help draw folks to town. Our own capacity constraints have made this tough to do at the brewery, but fortunately the beautiful Space Center is right down the street and is the perfect venue to kick off the first year of this hopefully annual fest.”

Castle Island’s More Wood in Norwood festival debuts this fall at the Norwood Space Center. Barrel-aged beers and community are at the heart of this new festival.

Community is at the crux of this festival with the venue location playing a large role. The Norwood Space Center is a thriving community of artisans and small businesses, and More Wood in Norwood plans to showcase their works during the festival. Event-goers can admire photography, collections from the Sneaker Museum, and memorabilia from the David Bieber archives among other exhibits.

While the Norwood Space Center has 200+ free parking spaces on-site, CIBC encourages event-goers to use public transportation and will be running a shuttle from the Norwood Commuter Rail stop throughout the day of the event. More Wood in Norwood tickets can be purchased here: https://cibeer.co/morewood, and participating breweries will be announced via CIBC’s social media pages. Interested folks can follow them on Facebook at @castleislandbeer and on Instagram and Twitter at @cibrewing for updates as the barrel-aged beer festival approaches.
