Tapped Beer Truck, Craft Beer Cellar join forces to pour great local beer, raise funds for Braintree Day

For Immediate Release – August 23, 2018

BRAINTREE, MASS.– Chef and entrepreneur Avi Shemtov of Tapped Beer Truck brings the spirit of Oktoberfest to Braintree this fall with the first weekly public-space beer garden south of Boston.

The Braintree Beer Garden will take place each Saturday, noon to 5 p.m., from Sept. 8 to Oct. 27 next to Braintree Town Hall (1 JFK Memorial Drive), crossing paths with the community’s popular farmers market which takes place on the adjoining space (Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon).

The Braintree Beer Garden is conveniently located just a short walk from Braintree Station on the MBTA Red Line and commuter rail. It’s also a short distance from Greater Boston’s busiest roadways, including the Southeast Expressway, Route 128 and Route 3, all of which meet in Braintree (the famous “Braintree split”).

The Braintree Beer Garden will be operated by Tapped Beer Truck, Greater Boston’s first mobile craft beer bar, and sponsored by Craft Beer Cellar of Braintree, the premier craft beer retailer south of Boston.

Proceeds from the autumn beer garden will be donated to Braintree Day, the community’s beloved annual celebration of American independence.

“Boston has witnessed beer gardens pop up all over the city and Tapped Beer Truck has been thrilled to be a part of this great trend of public hospitality,” said Tapped founder, Chubby Chickpea chef and South Shore native Avi Shemtov. “We’re even more excited to bring this experience to Braintree and to surrounding communities. Guests will have fun in a chill, relaxed family-friendly environment celebrating great beer and a great community.”

Braintree Autumn Beer Garden guests will find delicious locally brewed suds from Greater Boston’s best beer makers, plus water and soft drinks, and food from a to-be-determined food truck or local vendor.

“We are excited to announce this weekly event to Braintree,” said Mayor Joe Sullivan. “People will be able to attend our excellent farmers market beforehand and then afterwards enjoy some craft beer on tap.  Our Town Hall area is a beautiful piece of Braintree, and we hope people will come and enjoy it.”
