PRESS RELEASE / September 13, 2024 (Boston, MA) – October 25 and 26, Roundhead Brewing Company welcomes beer fans to Contigofest, Roundhead’s anniversary bash at the brewery’s taproom and community space in Hyde Park. At Contigofest, attendees will gather to enjoy beer, food, and music from the first Latino-owned brewery in Massachusetts, and to celebrate two years of Roundhead as a community gathering place. The two-day anniversary party, named for the Spanish word meaning “with you,” will also feature Boston’s first Latino Beer Festival.

Contigofest festivities kick off Friday night, October 25 from 5-9pm with Community Vinyl Night and the release of Valhalla, Roundhead’s limited edition, barrel-aged Scottish Ale. During the bottle release party, DJ NXN invites attendees to spin their own classic vinyl records on the DJ table. No entrance fee; all ages.

Unique to this year’s Contigofest, Roundhead will host Boston’s first Latino Beer Fest, a 21+ ticketed event featuring brews from 10 Latinx and alliance breweries.

Guests who attend the Latino Beer Festival portion of Contigofest will have access to unlimited samples from the following guest brewers:

  • Cervecería del Callejón (Puerto Rico)
  • Reina Mora (Puerto Rico)
  • Dragon Stone Abbey  (Puerto Rico)
  • Cerveza 7 Vidas (Tacna, Perú)
  • Ravenous Brewing (Cumberland, RI)
  • Long Live (Boston, MA)

“It is important for the community of Latin and alliance brewers to come together,” says co-owner Luis Espinoza. “We come together as a community and help each other grow. By collaborating, we exchange culture, experience, and knowledge. I’m so proud that we can create the space to celebrate Latin influence in brewing here in Boston.”

The Latino Beer Fest takes over Contigofest on Saturday, October 26 from 1-6p with ticketed pouring sessions paired with live musical performances. Guests to the Latino Beer Festival purchase a ticket for one of two sessions; each session provides attendees with two hours to connect with brewers, enjoy live music, and sample over 20 unique beers.

Entrance to the Latino Beer Fest is limited to 120 guests for each of the two pouring sessions, so book tickets in advance to ensure availability! Tickets cost $55 in advance; $75 at the door. All Latino Beer Fest tickets include a commemorative sample glass.

After the pouring sessions, Contigofest continues with an unforgettable Salsa Dance Party with the Timba Messengers, a jazz/salsa band whose compelling musical style combines the rich musical heritage of Latin America with jazz and Afro-Caribbean rhythms. The concert and dance party is presented in collaboration with Departure Arts, Roundhead’s community arts presenting partner. Doors open at 630p. All ages. Pay-what-you-can tickets at the door, until sold out.

Over the two days of Contigofest, the Roundhead Pizza Kitchen will operate from 12-9pm; Saturday, Roundhead will welcome Naco Taco and their assortment of made-from-scratch tacos, tortas, sides, and salads.

Roundhead is proud to celebrate two years of cerveza que reúne — great beer that brings people together. For more about Contigofest, visit roundheadbrewing.com/contigofest2024.
