PRESS RELEASE / February 18, 2020 (Framingham, MA) – Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing Company, located in Framingham, MA, is partnering with PakTech and Stockbridge Plastics, LLC to recycle and reprocess PakTech can holders.

Many people are not aware that many single-stream municipal recycling facilities are unable to properly sort the PakTech can holders that many breweries use for their cans. The problem is that this plastic technology developed faster than the sorting machines and many of the holders get rejected from the system because they get sorted as paper or some other material. To address this issue, PakTech offers a Recycling Program that Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing is taking advantage of to make sure that these holders get properly recycled. Exhibit ‘A’ is partnering with Stockbridge Plastics, LLC to pick up the PakTechs and bring them to a reprocessing facility. “The PakTech holders are HDPE Grade #2, which is a highly desired reusable plastic. By ensuring the purity of the plastic we are sending out, it’s not hard to find a facility that will reprocess it” said Kelsey Roth, Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing General Manager.

“PakTech strives for sustainability in all facets of our business. PakTech handles are made with 100% post-consumer material and are repurposed from milk jugs and similar containers. They are in turn 100% recyclable and often repurposed as composite lumber, flower pots, pipe, park benches, PakTech handles and more!” states the PakTech website.

Exhibit ‘A’ Brewing has a dedicated PakTech recycling bin in their taproom and are happy to accept all PakTechs, even from other breweries. “This helps to solve the problem of our PakTechs not getting into the recycling stream. When we can do something that reduces our plastic impact, we would be silly not to take advantage of it” said Roth.
