A Stein holding match consists of multiple competitors holding identical 1-liter glass steins full of beer straight out in front of their bodies with a straight arm for as long as possible. Judges watch the competitors and check their form from multiple angles to make sure they’re following the rules. The judges assign strikes to the competitors for any breaches of good Stein holding form. Upon receiving three strikes, or spilling any beer, or giving up, a competitor is disqualified. The competitor who maintains good form for the longest is declared the winner.
