PRESS RELEASE / November 7, 2023 (Woburn/Jamaica Plain, MA) – Lord Hobo Brewing and J.P. Licks have come together to craft a limited-edition beer that recreates the timeless favorite, Chocolate Mint Ice Cream. This collaborative brew is a rich stout infused with lactose for a velvety, full-bodied experience. It features bursts of refreshing mint, complemented by bold chocolate undertones and a touch of creamy vanilla.
“We are thrilled to join forces with another iconic Boston brand for this truly unique beer release, alongside an outstanding company like J.P. Licks,” says Aubree Karls, Marketing Director at Lord Hobo. “Chocolate Mint Ice Cream happens to be one of my personal favorite treats, and our brewing team has masterfully transformed this delectable dessert into a beer. It’s the perfect adult indulgement.”
Inspired by the collaboration with Lord Hobo, J.P. Licks will be releasing their new Chocolate Mint Ice Cream at all 17 of their locations. This indulgent ice cream combines rich chocolate with a refreshing mint, creating a perfect accompaniment to the beer release.
“I am truly and joyously proud of our collaboration with Lord Hobo,” says Vincent Petryk, Owner and Founder of J.P. Licks. “I feel like if I were in the beer business instead of ice cream, my company would look and feel just like they do! They are quite a kindred spirit to me – their vibe, their look, their unique look. I love their name and their look, the quality of their work, and their commitment to Boston. This was a natural partnership.”
Lord Hobo will be hosting a Beer and Ice Cream Party with J.P. Licks at their Woburn Taproom to celebrate the dual collaboration. The event is scheduled for November 17th, running from 5 PM to 11 PM. Attendees can look forward to beer floats featuring the Chocolate Mint Ice Cream Stout and the Chocolate Mint Ice Cream, complimentary ice cream tastings, exciting raffle prizes, and a special appearance by J.P. Licks’ beloved cow mascot, Clementine.

Lord Hobo Brewing Company, founded in 2015, was born out of a Boston craft beer bar. Now into our eighth year of operation, we continue to grow, bringing innovative New England style beers to our thirsty and dedicated fans.
Our brewery, located in Woburn, Massachusetts, is the nucleus of our company. Beginning with a small tasting room and only a handful of recipes, our Woburn Taproom now has a maximum seating capacity accommodating over 400 patrons with a full kitchen and a beautiful outdoor patio. In 2021, we opened an additional satellite location, Lord Hobo Boston – a 3,500-square-foot brewery and restaurant located in Boston’s Seaport District.
Lord Hobo beers are currently available in 9 states throughout the Eastern United States with 11 wholesaler partners.
Locally owned and operated by Vincent Petryk, J.P. Licks now boasts 17 store locations throughout Massachusetts and has remained homemade and locally owned and operated. The company employs up to 453 employees in the summer months and ships coffee (which is roasted in-house at the Jamaica Plain store) and merchandise anywhere in the continental USA. All ice cream and ice cream cakes are made in house in the Jamaica Plain headquarters. Since opening its doors, J.P. Licks has been committed to supporting each store’s community by donating in-kind donations to small, local organizations.
J.P. Licks has won many awards over the years for their intensely flavored homemade ice cream and frozen yogurt, most recently Best of Boston 2021 from Boston Magazine. J.P. Licks has received over 300 “Best of” awards over the last 40 years. Known for their high quality, scrumptious treats J.P.
