PRESS RELEASE / August 15, 2023 (Norwood, MA) – Castle Island Brewing Co. is adding another title to its growing collection of awards. Their flagship IPA, Keeper, has been voted best IPA in New England at the United States Beer Tasting Championship™ (USBTC) 29th Annual Summer Competition.
Keeper is an American IPA featuring Simcoe and Cascade hops, and lands at 6.5% alcohol by volume. It blends a soft, balanced bitterness with enormous hop flavor and aroma, and is known for being highly approachable.
“Keeper has been our #1 selling beer since we opened eight years ago, and we’re proud it got some great recognition at this summer’s USBTC” says Adam Romanow, Castle Island Founder & CEO.
Keeper is the brewery’s flagship beer, and in August 2023, Castle Island celebrated its 400th batch going into production.
The brewery’s White Ale and Sweet Sandia also took home honorable mentions in their respective categories, Belgian Wit and Fruited Sour Beer.
“We’re equally excited about White and Sweet Sandia for their performance in the competition. In a world of countless IPAs, we’re proud of our ability to execute quality across a diverse range of styles” says Romanow.
Keeper is available at retailers and on draft across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Castle Island has locations in Norwood, Mass. and South Boston, Mass., both of which are open to the public for on-site taproom sales and cans to-go.
