Cape Cod Beer Launches a Brand-New Beverage Option: Cape Cod Hard Seltzers

PRESS RELEASE / January 14, 2025 (Hyannis, MA) – After two decades in business, the Cape’s original craft brewery has ventured beyond beer. Cape Cod Beer is excited to announce their newest beverage offering: Cape Cod Hard Seltzers. They are brewed in-house, clean fermented, carbonated to perfection, and gluten-free. These delicious seltzers are crafted to be served two ways: light and refreshing at 5% ABV and as seltzer cocktails at 12% ABV. At this time, Cape Cod Hard Seltzers will be served exclusively in the taproom at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis alongside their wide selection of craft brews.

Cape Cod Beer has been a major player in the local craft beer scene since 2004. In recent years, hard seltzers have grown in popularity and continue to dominate the growth in the alcoholic beverage marketplace. Cape Cod Beer realized that many former beer drinkers are now reaching for low-calorie, gluten-free, or non-alcoholic options. They understood that this wasn’t just a trend and that the desire for hard seltzers was here to stay. In response, Cape Cod Beer researched and crafted the best recipe possible and from that, Cape Cod Hard Seltzer was born.

Cape Cod Hard Seltzers are now available on draft in the taproom at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis. The current selection includes the 5% hard seltzers served with Lemon, Lime, or Cranberry and the 12% in a variety of cocktails. The hand-crafted cocktails include a Winter Sangria, Seltzer-Ita, Grown-Up Root Beer, and Craigville SunSeltz. The Craigville SunSeltz features Cape Cod Beer’s homemade pink lemonade infused with the 12% hard seltzer, based on a popular cocktail formally known as the Craigville Sunset. In addition to these delicious creations made with hard seltzer, these drinks can also be served as mocktails with no alcohol.

Todd Marcus, owner of Cape Cod Beer, looks forward to enjoying their new hard seltzers with their customers. He spoke about this new product with pride, “People always asked if we’d brew a seltzer and the answer was always ‘no, Cape Cod Beer makes beer.’ But this industry continues to change, and we’ve learned that if you don’t adapt with it, success will be difficult.” Marcus continues, giving props to his Brew Crew, “We knew we needed something different, and our staff was up for the challenge. Our production team, led by Head Brewer Logan Roderick, is young, eager, and really good at what they do. They were tasked to create the best and cleanest hard seltzer possible, and they nailed it.” Since the soft launch at the end of December, Cape Cod Hard Seltzers have been incredibly well received in the taproom, quickly exceeding sales expectations.
