Kane’s Donuts Rolls Out a True Taste of Summer with its July Flavors of the Month and Limited-Edition Flavor, Available July 1 through July 30
PRESS RELEASE / July 6, 2023 (Boston, MA) – Kane’s Donuts is pleased to announce a limited-edition donut in partnership with UFO Beer Company, bringing customers the UFO Maine Blueberry Donut! This scrumptious July Donut is available just in time for National Blueberry Month, and will be available beginning July 1 through July 30 at all three Kane’s Donuts’ locations: Kane’s Lincoln Ave (120 Lincoln Ave. in Saugus); Kane’s Rt. 1 (1575 Broadway, on Rt. 1 at Essex Landing in Saugus), and Kane’s Downtown (90 Oliver St. in Boston’s Financial District, at International Place).
Tapping into UFO Beer Company’s Maine Blueberry Beer, Kane’s has crafted yet another sensational summer flavor. The UFO Maine Blueberry Donut is a cake-style blueberry donut made with real blueberries folded in the dough. Kane’s has taken UFO’s Maine Blueberry, reduce it down, and blended it with Kane’s signature honey glaze, then has drenched the delicious blueberry cake donut with the glaze. All alcohol cooks off during the reduction process, making both these donuts safe for all ages.
“Our loyal customers love when we work together with New England brewers to celebrate the flavors of the season,” says Kane’s Donuts’ Co-Owner and Donut Master, Maria Delios. “The UFO Maine Blueberry Beer Donut is sure to be their new summer favorite.”
UFO Maine Blueberry is brewed with, you guessed it, real Maine blueberries for the authentic taste of Maine’s signature berries. Notes of blueberry start with Maine Blueberries’ inviting aroma and continue with a wave of sweet blueberry flavor in each sip. Balanced by a light body and crisp finish, Maine Blueberry is more than a sweet treat, it’s a satisfying and refreshing ale dedicated to the best wild blueberries around. “We’ve enjoyed the wild blueberries of Maine for as long as we can remember,” said UFO’s Brand Manager Jordan Kellem. “Be it blueberry pies, muffins, pancakes, or by the handful straight from the carton, there’s something special about the satisfying sweetness of Vacationland’s state fruit. This blueberry ale was first brewed exclusively for Maine as our ode to those wild blueberries—but one thing led to another, and this limited release found itself in our 2020 Spring Mix pack and is now available in half of the country! We are beyond excited to be sharing our pride and joy with Kane’s Donuts to create this delicious UFO Maine Blueberry donut.”
Kane’s will also have another four additional flavors this month. The S’mores Donut is a fluffy yeast-style, donut frosted with Kane’s homemade milk chocolate frosting, topped with graham crackers and mini marshmallows, then torched. The Watermelon Donut is a yeast-style frosted with a refreshing creamy watermelon frosting and then decorated to look like a sweet slice of watermelon. The Vegan Funfetti Donut is a cake style bursting with patriotic sprinkles, then drenched in a yummy glaze, and topped with sprinkles. The Gluten Free Lime Ricky is a cake-style donut with real lime fruit folded in the dough, then glazed with Kane’s signature honey glaze and drizzled with raspberry glaze!

We launched UFO Beer Company to challenge what craft beer could look and taste like. The year was 1998, and we were feeling aspirational. NASA was sending John Glenn back into space. The X-Files movie was coming out (Lost in Space too, but we don’t really like to talk about that). On a fateful voyage to the opposite coast, we discovered that breweries of the Pacific Northwest were serving up delicious pints of cloudy wheat beer, a new concept for American craft brewing. We couldn’t get enough of the stuff, but the style had yet to make its way to our home in the Northeast. Life had given us lemons, so we rolled up our sleeves, sliced them up, and garnished our first beer with them—a cloudy hefeweizen called UFO.
