PRESS RELEASE / June 21, 2023 (Boston, MA) – The Sam Adams Boston Brewery is bringing back Vacation Sam, a fruited milkshake IPA series, on June 30th. First brewed in 2021, Vacation Sam was inspired by the pandemic. After not being able to travel for over a year, the brewery wanted to give folks a sense of escape right here in our Beer Garden by filling the space with palm trees and plastic flamingos and brewing vacation-inspired beers.
To celebrate the return, the brewery will be hosting a release party with live music, BBQ from veteran-owned local pop-up, Code1 BBQ, lawn games, and of course the return of the palm trees and flamingos. More details about the brews and event can be found below.
Kick off the summer with a Vacation Sam!
What:
- The Vacation Sam series kicked off with the release of award-winning Pina Colada IPA. This milkshake IPA uses pineapple puree and Sabro hops, which give off coconut aromas, to recreate our favorite pina colada flavors. In the fall of 2022, the brewery submitted Pina Colada IPA to the Experimental IPA category of the Great American Beer Festival, where it took home a silver award in an increasingly competitive class of beers. After a celebratory brew this winter, Pina Colada IPA will make another return in all its glory on June 30th just in time for summer.
- The full line-up of Vacation Sam beers, which also includes Mango Guava IPA and Blackberry Scoop, will return on draft and in 4-pk cans.
