Winter Nights Viking Feast 2019

Release your inner Viking at our Vetrnætr or “Winter Nights” celebration! Ancient Vikings celebrated three major annual festivals. “Winter Nights” was the celebration of the coming winter. While it was originally held at the beginning of October, after they co-opted many Christian traditions, it was moved to the beginning of November. All farmers were required to brew beer and hold celebrations for peace and prosperity. Sounds like something we can all use right now.

Viking outfits are encouraged!

Building Bridges – Scandinavian IPA: A Scandinavian IPA, made with fresh aromatic American hops. abv 7%

The Dark Overlord – Imperial Licorice Stout: Imperial stout, with notes of sweet roasted malt, chocolate, molasses and licorice. First brewed for The Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016. abv 12%

Groot & Sterk – Smoke Barleywine: A spicy and smoked barleywine. English Translation: Big & Strong. abv 10.7%

Jopen (Netherlands)
Koyt – Gruit : Traditional Gruitbier brewed with a blend of medieval herbs, in place of hops. Reddish brown in color. Spicy, complex and smooth. abv 8.5%

BA Many Faced Got – Gotlandsdricke : A traditional ale style unique to the Island of Gotland in Sweden- aged on Red Wine barrels. A mix of smoke, juniper, wood and Red Wine. abv 10.5%

Odin’s Tipple – Nordic Strong Ale: Dark Norse Ale with loads of chocolate malt and a single strain of wild yeast. abv 11%

Raw – Norwegian Farmhouse Ale: Traditional Norwegian Farmhouse Ale. Smoky, herbal and smooth. abv 6.5%

Labietis (Latvia)
Mežs – Juniper Red Ale: A refreshing, balanced Red Ale, made with juniper. Dry-hopped with a variety of Eastern Europe wild hops. abv 5.5%

Dansk Mjod (Denmark)
Viking Blod –Mead: Nordic honey wine and hibiscus hops recipe from about 1700 abv 19.0% 5oz 7.5
