2023 Can Car Derby

The CIBC Can Car Derby is BACK by popular demand! What’s a beer can derby, you ask? Well, it’s just like the classic ‘pinewood derby’ of your childhood scouting days, except with a CIBC can instead of a block of wood.
Here’s the rundown:
– SIGN UPS AND ENTRY KIT PICK UPS ONLY AVAILABLE AT OUR NORWOOD TAPROOM
– Sign ups are limited to 32 total teams
– Teams can include up to four members
– Entry is $20 and includes your assembly kit, pit passes for the event, custom stickers and a discount on a 4 pack
– Use as little or as much of the assembly kit as you want, but all can components must come from a Castle Island Brewing Company can. The rest is up to you.
– Your car must not exceed these parameters:
Max. Width: 5″
Max. Height: 8″
Max. Length: 10″
Max. Weight: 12 oz.
– Cars can have no propulsion of any kind (gravity racers only)
– Must be 21+ to enter

– First Place
– Best Design
– Best Team Name

Day-of details:
– Teams must arrive at 1pm for check-in and weighing/inspection of your can car
– Entrants will receive pit passes and seed numbers upon arrival
– Order of the first round will be announced at 1:30pm
– Racing starts at 2 PM sharp
– Prizes will be awarded to winners in all four categories
