Bière D’Alsace is inspired by the French Pils from the Alsace region of France, an area that lies on Germany’s Southwestern Border. While this proximity to Germany undoubtedly had a large influence on the region’s brewing culture in technique and raw material-wise, the Alsatians also cooked with non-traditional ingredients such as corn, which were typically frowned upon by German brewers. The Alsatians have truly made their own style of Pils that, while referencing its German influence, is not a derivative.⁣
