It’s the Battle of the Beer Writers. An East Coast Smackdown pitting breweries from Massachusetts against the Tri-State area. This friendly competition features BeerAdvocate columnist and author of Great American Craft Beer, Andy Crouch, who will represent Massachusetts. His opponent in this bout is John Holl, senior editor of Craft Beer and Brewing Magazine and author of Drink Beer, Think Beer. John will be repping Connecticut, New York, and his home state of New Jersey. Crouch and Holl will lead the audience through a tasting of 5 rounds in different styles, with 2 beers per round, for a total of at least 10 beers to be sampled. After vying for bragging rights for their respective regions, the audience will vote after each round for the favorite beers and they will eventually will crown the Smackdown winner. Join CBC’s Society of Master Beercierge for a fun night of flavorful beers, friendly competition, and a little smack talk.
