Smuttynose celebrates the winter season with a festival benefitting the Hampton Firefighters Charitable Organization.

Hampton, New Hampshire — On  January 19 from 2-8 pm,  Smuttynose Brewing Company  will have a Crackle & Hops Winter Festival with bonfires, beers, music, food, and fun. Smuttynose is also dedicating this event to the Hampton Firefighters Charitable Organization (HFFCO), and will donate $1 of every beer sold to this charity.

The Hampton Firefighters Charitable Organization is a local non-profit charity that raises money for firefighters and other community members in need of financial assistance due to illness and crisis. The organization supports the poor, underprivileged, and distressed community members and provides education and safety within the firefighting profession. Smuttynose held a BBQ event in August that raised money for the HFFCO as well.

Crackle & Hops is a festival for all ages—there’s an activity for everyone to enjoy! Those who love sledding outside, but hate the mess of snow and slush, can slide down a 40ft inflatable toboggan slide made for both adults and children. Ride tickets will be available for purchase during the event.

S’more-making kits will be available for purchase as well, and guests can make them at any of the 10 outdoor fire pits. Smuttynose is asking for Christmas tree donations to be used in a bonfire at the event. Locals are encouraged to drop the trees off at the Finestkind Trailer Park on the Smuttynose campus. The City of Hampton will start collecting Christmas trees for the bonfire on January 7th along with their normal weekly trash collection.

When guests are not sledding or enjoying beer or toasty beverages, they are encouraged to shop around at booths from local Hampton vendors out in the Smuttynose Events Field. Those who enjoy skiing at Pats Peak Ski Area can participate in many winter-themed competitions; the winner will receive free lift tickets!

There will be a live ice sculpting performance with an ice luge designed to keep beers perfectly frosty, and a local DJ will set the tone with great music throughout the event. Smuttynose will also offer a hot poker station where the new Smuttlabs release, a peanut butter stout, and the Smuttynose Rocky Road stout can be caramelized in a branded Smuttynose stein. Delicious hot chocolate will be for sale for both children and adults. There will be regular hot chocolate for the little ones and spiked hot chocolate for the adults.

Although general admission to this event is free, there will be a VIP ticket for $30 that will include: two beer tickets, two hot chocolates (or 1 spiked hot chocolate), one S’more kit, one koozie, free admission to 10 rides down the 40ft inflatable toboggan, and one free 9” pizza. VIP ticket holders will be able to skip the beer lines with a VIP pouring tent as well. The VIP ticket is valued at $50.
