Second Annual Ipswich Ale Cask & Clam Fest

May 19, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

The second annual Ipswich Ale Cask & Clam Fest will feature: specialty cask ales & draft beers from the Ipswich Ale Tapmobiles, live music, food trucks, a seafood & beer tasting, and many more activities for all ages! Not a seafood fan? A variety of food options will be available for purchase at the food trucks, including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options.

Music Line-up:
12pm – Sarah and Wild Versatile (rock, soul, blues, jazz)
1:30pm – Funk du Jour (good ole fashioned, dirty bottom funk)
2:30- The Portermen– on the “Dam Patio” (Sea Shanty / a capella group)
3pm – The Whammy Bars (classic rock, R&B and funk, with a modern twist)
4:30pm – Orville Giddings (Bluegrass/Jazz band)

Ipswich Poetry Group will be reading ocean & environmental themed poems between sets.

The Seafood & Beer Tasting Tent (which will be open from 12-3pm only) will feature food samples from seven local restaurants competing for a people’s choice award. Participating restaurants will be encouraged to use Green Crab, a tasty, local, invasive species, in their dishes. This year’s tasting tent restaurants include: The Ipswich Ale Brewer’s Table, Black Cow Tap & Grill – Hamilton, Ithaki Restaurant, VASA waterfront kitchen & bar, Ipswich Shellfish Co., Inc., Ipswich Clambake, and Woodman’s of Essex.

New to this year’s tasting tent is a contract-brewed beer table! These beers are brewed at the Ipswich Ale brewery under contract and many of them are hard to find in the area! Participating breweries offering tastings of their beers include: Mighty Squirrel, Old Planters Brewing Co, Bad Martha Beer, White Lion Brewing Company, Spider Bite Brewing Co., and Yonkers Brewing Co.

Big thanks to the food truck vendors who will be selling food at the festival: The Whoo(pie) Wagon, Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese Truck, Kelly’s Roast Beef, and CopperDome Crust!

There is no fee for admission to this family friendly event. Beer tickets and tickets for food sampling in the Seafood & Beer Tasting area will be available the day-of, and in advance online until 5pm, on May 18th!

All proceeds from the Ipswich Ale Cask & Clam Fest will benefit local nonprofits that help with the conservation of clams and the clamming industry: Ipswich River Watershed Association and the The Green Crab R&D Project.

THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE. Leashed & friendly dogs welcome.
