German Beer Day!! Every year on this day, Germans celebrate beer brewed in their own county from the approximately 13,000 breweries in Germany. It is a recognition of the creation of the Reinheitsgebot, or “purity law” issued on 23 April in 1516 that decreed how beer had to be brewed and sold in the state of Bavaria.
