With the Addition of Saltbox Kitchen Brewery, Massachusetts Now Has 85 Visitable Breweries

More great news for Massachusetts craft beer drinkers, especially those in the metro west area. West Concord’s Saltbox Kitchen, a farm-to-table cafe featuring fresh produce from its own farm, has launched a nano brewery. The newest addition to the Bay State’s burgeoning craft brewery scene had a launch party and started serving beer on over the weekend in celebration of the restaurant’s successful first year.

Saltbox Kitchen’s head brewer Ralph Fiegel emphasizes clean, farm fresh flavors.

Farm manager and head brewer Ralph Fiegel developed the recipes for the brewery’s small-batch offerings, which emphasize clean, farm fresh flavors. Available only at Saltbox Kitchen, the tap list includes Heywood’s Ordinary Belgian Wit, Saltbox Prophecy Farmhouse Ale (our personal favorite), Emerald Prophet Pale Ale, and Top Bracket IPA. Patrons can sample all four by ordering a flight, enjoy a full pint of their favorite offering, or take a 32-ounce growler home with them. For now, the cafe and brewery are only open until 9:00, but they plan to extend their weekend hours soon, pending town approval.
