Legislative Update From the Mass Brewers Guild
Here’s an update on the three major pieces of legislation that we (MBG) are working on:
- Farmers Market Access: The legislation was approved by committee and now will be voted on by the full House. We are waiting for the legislation to be added to the House agenda- stand by!
- Brewpub Self-Distribution: The legislation was approved by committee and now will be voted on by the full House. We are waiting for the legislation to be added to the House agenda- stand by!
- Franchise Law Reform: Working in tandem with Sen. L’Italien, our champion and Senate bill sponsor, we are imminently working towards a Senate floor vote for S. 136. (This bill would take franchise rights out of the hands of the state and govern the relationship through mutually agreed upon contracts.)
