(Boston – April 10, 2018) BeerAdvocate is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting our first IPA Fest on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Sponsored by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, this one day, two session event will be held at the Flynn Cruiseport Boston, and will explore and celebrate the tremendous diversity of a beer category that continues to more attract fans year after year: India Pale Ales.

Each of the 150+ beers from 40+ breweries in attendance will be an India Pale Ale (plus a few India Pale Lagers for good measure). IPA is not only one of the most popular style families, it is also one of the most versatile. So we’ve invited brewers to bring New England, hazy, juicy, 100 IBU, zero IBU, English, Belgian, American, session, double, triple, quadruple, fresh hop, wet hop, dry-hopped, double dry-hopped, barrel-aged, rye, wheat, black, red, white, wild, Brett, sour, fruited, spiced, french-pressed, or distilled hop IPAs. So long as it’s somehow an IPA in concept, it’s welcome at this festival dedicated to the wide range of flavors and aromas brewers are coaxing from hops!

“My brother Jason and I have been hopheads for decades. We’re stoked to kickoff our annual tribute to everything India Pale Ale, from bitter to hazy and juicy to sour, and beyond,” says Todd Alström, founder of BeerAdvocate.

Session One will take place from 12 p.m.–4 p.m. and Session Two will run from 6 p.m.–10 p.m. Tickets are $65 each (plus fees) and go on sale via Eventbrite on Thursday, April 12th at noon EDT. Tickets include beer tastings, Govino drinkware, and a fest guide while supplies last. Food sold separately. All attendees must be 21+ with valid ID.
